Bosnia and Croatia seal LNG pipeline deal
Bosnia and Croatia signed an intergovernmental agreement for the Southern Interconnection pipeline linking Bosnia to Croatia’s Krk LNG terminal. The project would give Bosnia access to US LNG and reduce its full reliance on Russian pipeline gas. The route would run about 52 km in Croatia and 169 km in Bosnia, with branches to Livno, Travnik, Jajce, Čapljina and Tuzla. Earlier plans put the pipeline’s capacity at up to 1.5 bcm/year. AAFS Infrastructure and Energy, a US firm, is set to lead the project with reported investment of about $1.2 billion. Aktor LNG USA, tied to Greece’s Aktor/DEPA venture, plans to supply Aluminij Industries with 0.5 bcm/year from 2030.
